トルコの中規模都市Yalovaに滞在していた時、街中のカフェでおじさんたちが日がな一日興じているゲームがあった。 どうやら麻雀やブリッジに似た感じのローカルゲームであるらしい。遊んでみたいけれどルールがわからない。 そこでおもちゃ屋でそのゲームを手に入れ、ビーチに泳ぎに来ているトルコの人々に「ルールを教えてください」と頼んでみた。 お互いに言葉が通じないまま、ゲームにはルールがある、という一点だけを信じた手探りのコミュニケーションは成立するのか。

When I stayed in Yalova, a mddle-sized city in Turkey, there was a game that men were playing all day long at cafes. It seemed to be a local game similar to mahjong or bridge. I wanted to play it, but I didn’t know how to play it. So I went to a toy shop and bought the game. I asked Turkish people on the beach to teach me the rules. we didn’t have common language. Is it possible to communicate each other without language, only believing that the game has rules?
