トルコの中規模都市Yalovaの産業はウェディングパーティー。この町で結婚式を挙げるために近隣の町から多くの人が訪れる。 パーティーの後に落ちていたプラスチックの楊枝は剣の形をしていた。 当時トルコは軍事的にピリピリとした雰囲気にあったこともあり、これを素材として使うことにした。 接着剤で楊枝をくっつけたものを無数に吊り下げて光を当てると、プラスチックは宝石のように輝き壁にはまるでイスラムタイルのモチーフのような美しい模様が大小様々に浮かび上がる。 しかしよく見ればそのパーツは全て剣の形をしているのである。

The local business of Yalova, a middle sized city in Turkey, is wedding parties. Many people come to this city to hold their wedding parties. I found some plastic toothpicks on the ground after the party. The shape of the picks were swords. When I was in Turkey, it was in a tense military atmosphere at the time, then I decided to use it as a material. I glued the toothpicks together and hung down countless numbers, the plastic glowed like jewels, and beautiful patterns of various sizes appeared on the wall, bit like the motifs on tiles. However, when you look it closer, you will find that the parts are all of the beautiful things are made from the shape of swords.
